hi all,
i wasnt sure where to put this post, so i'm sorry if this is the wrong place!
I'm having real problems adding a pci network card to my pc, and was hoping that someone here could shed some light on the problem. the problem is that the computer refuses to boot when the network card is installed in the slot. It gets all the way to just before the login in Vista, and then seems to freeze, and the monitor shows that the input has been lost.
I have tried this with 3 standard generic network cards all in the same slot, all with the same problem. The mobo only has two pci slots, the other is being used by a tv card.
The specs are:
q6600
P5Q Pro
4870
Vista Business 64
The computer boots fine in safe mode with the network card in, and it seems to install the card (or at least it is shown in device manager).
Any suggestions would be greatfully received!
cheers!
