just a heads up... last night i could not get vader immortal to install on my pc.... After the fall installed fine AFTER my issue so it was not an issue with all apps.
i contacted support, got no where and after 30 mins got disconnected. one of the suggestions was a complete reinstall of oculus software.

I have had an oculus rift since 2014 so with over 50 oculus titles installed and no cloud saving on most i am sure you can imagine how welcome this idea was!

but i tried it in desperation this morning and uninstalled my software... DO NOT DO THIS!

i spent 2 hrs trying to reinstall getting constant disconnections and errors, not of the work arounds online helped so i contacted support again.

And it is a known issue being actively worked on now. its affecting a lot of folk but not all!. unfortunately last night there were not enough reports and they are not advising anyone to uninstall at the moment now they know. there is no ETA on a fix

on the bright side i got £10 credit. i am actually relieved but i have wasted a large chunk of a days holiday from work.

i love it when Oculus's solution is to re-install the client, thus nuking all your game installs and deleting all your saves.
Yeah . So you can back them up then copy back but I agree. Oculus is a long way from steam in a lot of ways.

I note the quest now has automatic cloud saves for their games and AFAIK it is automatic and not something devs need to actively support. I dunno if they extended this feature to pcvr

Ok so update. The actual oculus install is now fixed.... However loads (Inc myself) still having problems installing apps from the store. It's hit and miss some work done and some refuse to install.

Ok it took some doing but apparently they found the problem and it is fixed. It is being rolled out now but depending on what server you are on and what the game is on it may take a little time . It's been a nasty one this. I reported this issue 8 days ago and ultimately only fixed a few hrs ago (assuming it is fixed of course).
It saddens me actually in a way...... Could you imagine the ....storm if this happened on steam, it would have been all over social media and yet hardly anyone even noticed on oculus. It possibly shows how few people.do actually still buy the older oculus pcvr titles. (Afaik this would have affected everyone who tried to install)

We really are a niche bunch.

It's a huge bug but relatively specific situation from what i understand.

Vr is growing though, and fast. Still niche but far more in the public eye now. Think estimates are now 10m quest 2 sales. That's still niche but recognisable niche if you see what i mean.
