Hi I have had a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard and Core 2 Duo E6400 running fine for few months now.

Yesterday I had a neice who has spilt some water inside my Case which I think has damaged the board. Was not a great deal of water but I think it may have got in contact with a power connector which sit on the base of the case.

The problem is I cannot start the computer when rebooting it or turning it on from cold boot without pressing reset several times and if I save any overclock settings in Bios they revert back to standard. Once I can succesfully get the computer to load windows it seems to run fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be. I have F7 bios which I updated to F10 but same thing happens.

Thanks for any help.

Kevin

I hope you left the board to dry before turning it on . . . Look for scorch marks where the water made contact, if you see some the prognosis isnt good.

Generally water is OK (coffee and tea with sugar are the real baddies) - as long as it is left to dry out properly before you try and fire it up again.

Good luck!
