Problem building

My stuff has arrived but have instantly hit a couple of problems.

This antec 900 case has a big black bracket on one of the HDD cages, i was under the impression i needed to remove this in order to put my 8800GTX in but although i can detatch the black plastic thing it has wires going through it so i cant actually remove it.

Is this meant to be removed? if so how can i do it safely?

Also this ocuk gtx i got doesnt have a cable with it at all, is that right? starting to think i should have just got myself a bfg man and had the warranty and cables :)

Okay just realised cld slide the wires across and have removed that bracket. Any info on whether i should get a cable with my gtx or not though?
 
Not opened monitor yet but that makes sense thanks.

One other question if i may.

There is some kind of extension on the back of the gtx, looks bolted on but doesnt appear to have a use, will this be able to slot into hdd bay once mobo on the board or will i need to remove it first?

Nar its at the end of the card, like a big black bracket of some sort.

Having another issue at the moment though, the screws i used on the motherboard i now think were for my sata drives etc as they match the 2 that are holding the plate on the case. But there is no indication at all as to which screws go in what so i have no idea. All these diff screws but literally nothing in manual for mobo or case as to which are used where. Do you just use whatever fits and its not a big deal?
 
GFX - The other end?? Or the cable end? You have to connect 2 x PCI Power connectors to a GTX, if that helps.

Screws - IIRC there are like 2 sizes of screws, thumb screws and case screws. Thumb screws are external, case screws are smaller and internal. You also have standoffs, to stop the motherboard from touching the case. If the screw fits, that is where it should go.
 
aye man the problem is there are 3 types of internal screw :|

round ones with a raised middle, hexagons with raised middle, and just round flat ones.

Also there seem to be washers but only 8 of them when there are 9 mounts for the motherboard, is it important to put these on or can i just leave them as i didnt put them on.
 
Oops.

I think the flat ones are for the motherboard, hex ones for the backplate/PCI cards and the round ones for the drives, but I doubt it matters a great deal.
 
damn thats what i figured lol, i will redo the mobo, better to get it right now eh.

Do i need to include the washers as there are only 8? little red things
