Can't quite remember but i don't think so.

Basically you turn on the 360, then the PC, run the Media Connect software and it should detect the 360 console.

Not 100% sure as I set mine up ages ago.
 
The music does not apear under the "media center" bit on the media blade, Its under the music/computer/{sharedfoldersname} bit

Media center heading is only for MCE PCs streaming movies

Sorry if im stating the obvious but ive had a freind who was looking in the wrong place.
