Problem creating e-mail address in control panel

I've recently got some hosting and a domain with vidahost. I just tried to create a new e-mail address in the control panel to be told

Sorry, the ":Username": (local part) can only contain alpha, numeric, periods, - hyphens, or _ underscore characters

So I can't have [email protected] I have to have numbers, eg [email protected] ? :confused:

I must be doing something wrong as this doesn't seem right..

It says alpha, as in letters. What did you try and enter?

Google Apps would be a far better solution

I tried to enter [email protected] and it won't allow it. I'll only let me put numbers in

You must be doing something wrong, are you entering '[email protected]' in he field? or just 'name'

How odd, I just went to the control panel without going to the vidahost client area first and it's now working ok :confused:
