I was doing something for work and made a "new folder" and stuck 4000 jpgs in it all on my windows desktop XP.

Now ive finished i try and delete the folder, right click>delete and it tells me, after a 5 second pause....

Cannot delete New Folder: It is being used by another person or prgoram
Close any programs that might be using this file and try again.

errr any ideas... how to get rid of it, this is a standalone machine no shared content but is connected to the internet.

cheers.

There are programs you can use to delete these stubborn folders/files on boot up - so it doesn't run into any of those complications.

Have you tried any of these yet?

I personally use GipoMoveOnBoot - although there is another program that is very popular for the same reasons - but one I cannot remember the name of.

Unlocker is another handy bit of software that allows you to delete stubborn files/folders. It also integrates into the Windows menus so you can just right click and select Unlock :)
