problem flashing 6950 to 6970

Im trying to flash my 6950 into a 6970 via win 98 dos. everytime i type the command atiflash -f -p 0 6970.bin it says file not found ???. but the file is on the flash drive. Can anyone help ?. ive tried using different BIOS but still the same. maybe im not putting the bios on the flash drive properly ?

the atiflash isnt the problem. That command works. Its just the part saying theres no .bin file =/

You probably got a card that can't be flashed then. It's not a 100% success rate.

its an xfx 6950 2gb. Year old. Pretty much got it when they first came out

i dont get mismatch. it comes up saying there is no file :S

Try this atiflash -p -i this should give you the information on the gpu installed if not then atiflash is not setup correct

right ive unlocked the card now using the automatic in that link. But now the problem is i uninstalled drivers and when i go to re-install drivers it blue screens ? =/. Anyone know what i can do now ? xD

It sounds like it doesn't like the flash. Try removing and uninstalling the drivers in safe mode? Maybe try a clean install of windows as well. After that I reckon you should be looking at restoring the old BIOS.

Got the drivers installed now ran it through xp mode. But im bit worried about this random drivers stopped working shiizz. Seems to do it a lot on firefox but not so much on explorer :S
