Problem getting 4th monitor to work with GTX 670

I wonder if anyone that is using Nvidia 2D surround + an accessory monitor could help me.

I am having a great deal of difficulty in setting up the fourth accessory monitor. It is making me very frustrated. No matter what I try, one of the monitors is always reported as "will not be used". The monitor that won't be used can vary between any of the ports depending on the combination of cables used.

My setup is:

3x LG IPS234 monitors
1x Epson EH-TW6000 Projector

Two of the LG monitors are connected via DVI and the third is using HDMI.

The projector is connected via a passive Display port to HDMI cable.

When in extended desktop mode all displays can be used but if I try and enable Nvidia Surround one of them can't be used. Hopefully someone can help me as I have spent a lot of money setting this up with the belief that it should work (according to Nvidia diagrams and documents). I am on the verge of just getting an AMD card just so I can get four monitors working.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. From memory any monitor you used in surround became a part of the array. Thus when my friend tried to run three monitors in surround on his 4602win and a fourth to display his temps and clock speeds and so on (on a 295 as a second card) it refused to work.

Sooo, unless Nvidia have changed anything you won't be having much luck I'm afraid.

have you tried using the display port-hdmi adapter for the 3rd monitor and hdmi straight to projector?

I have yes. I have also tried using a DVI to HDMI cable. With the DVI end connected to the monitor.

It is a total mystery to me why this is happening. Nvidia makes it sound like you basically plug in any cable that will fit and it will work. They Nvidia control panel gives you no feedback to why the combination of cables isn't compatible. :(
