Problem getting into BIOS

I have bought a new computer, not from Oc's, it has an Asus p7p55d deluxe mother board and a windows 7 operating system. I tried to get into the BIOS by pressing the Delete key on startup, but nothing happens and the computer hangs up.
After this I cannot get into Windows without cutting all power to the computer for 30 seconds and then restarting, even this takes several attemps.
Any idea what is going on? could the suppliers have done something to prevent customers getting into the BIOS. Confused.

Please excuse me if am I missing something obvious, as I'm an old fogey?

Thanks in advance

Thanks marc512, have had a look I will need to take out one of my gpu's to get into it.
Will the Bios settings go to default and if so is that ok or will I have to reset various functions? I'm an old fellow and not very computer literate. I do have the motherboard book.

Hi,
Reflashed the BIOS to a newer one, no change, took battery out for a couple of minutes, still no change, it just refuses to boot into Bios and then the computer hangs up.
Takes 15 or more restarts to get it back into Windows after I have tried to enter Bios,
pulling my hair out.

Bump, is there anything else I can try? Took out the battery for ten minutes, nothing, new version of BIOS still in the computer, tried to install original Bios file but update will not except it.
Now the overclocking facility V evo, runs at 21 instead of 22 multiplyer, so my system is slower on the new version of the BIOS, what is going on? spent hours on it without success.
Is it time to send it back to the supplier?

Old ******* with no ideas left!

Tried a wired keyboard but it did not work either, however removing the battery seems to have cured the problems I was having trying to get into windows after pressing the delete key and then restarting, tried the F1 key no joy. Made sure numberlock was off no luck there either. The computer is only 9 days old so I am reluctant to start taking bits in and out. I have applied for a RMA, just hoping it's nothing silly I was missing.
