I am using the same official Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64 disk I bought that is in immacualte condition and not scratched.

I boot the system. it loads the installer from the CD/DVD just fine. It then says:
"A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. IF you have the driver floppy disk...."

Uhh....?!!!!! Never seen this before in a million years of installing windows!

I have inserted a new SSD into my system that is recognised by BIOS just fine.

Any ideas please?

Now got the drive recognised after updating the BIOS. The MX100 drive is recognised and Windows installs correctly but Windows Hangs after rebooting after installation...

Never had so much trouble with a Windows Install!!

can't remember the last time i used a cd/dvd to install a o/s

for me installing from USB is quicker and easier as long as your pc supports it

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

get the latest disk you can, (dvd and make a USB image) a slipstreamed version with all updates pre installed helps with time, then use your key to register it.

once installed and updated / drivers etc, image it, again to a thumb drive, this way you have a back image if anything goes wrong, a repair disk helps and can be made on the thumb as well, OC sell some cheap 8gb ones (£3.68) each, get 2 and your sorted

label them, image and repair and put them somewhere safe, may never use them, but for the cost there their if you do, good luck.

image reinstall from scratch on a sdd from USB 3 thumb drive on a i7 with 16gb ram, 8 mins from start to finish max or less, depending on hardware and image etc etc

i use 8.1 and 10 but can't think win 7 was any slower in the past when i used it, tbh
