That is a tracert to a 1.6 cs server. The first request has timed out which is normally the router/modem.

I have no idea whats causing it.

I'm on Alcatel speedtouch modem 2MB pipex.

My internet settings are as follows.

Security tab

Advanced settings
-Optional Encryption
Allow these protocols
-PAP
-SPAP
-CHAP
-MS-CHAP
-MS-CHAP v2

Networking tab

Settings
-Enable LCP
-Negotiate Multilink
The connection uses the following items.
-TCP/IP
-QoS
-Client for Microsoft Networks

Advanced
-Firewall off.

This is really annoying me, because the first is timing out my ping is spiking on online games which is a no no.

Could a third party program be causing this problem or not? if so which ones are liable to?

The advanced settings on my internet options were set by a program called Utilities 2006 or something like that and no matter how many times I switch it back to typical recommended settings on security it just switches back to advanced.

HELP!

Majik

Well occasionaly I have had it working. Not timing out on the first. When it is working like that then its fine on the rest (no spiking).

The server itself is a counter strike 1.6 server most likely located in London.

:O grrr, so is there anything I can do? because my friend lives in the same street as me is on pipex and his connection appears to be fine.

I have just done it again (I haven't restarted my internet since the last test)

It has worked this time but this is a recurring problem. Is it something worth contacting my ISP over? This has been going on and off for the past week or more.
