Hi ,

Just finished my first build ..all went well ;)

Come to instal windows and i keep getting messages saying can't copy XXX file

Ie spiro800.dll and kodak_dc.icm .

It askes you if you want to retry and i did and the files copyed ...but some just will not copy .

I gets to about 58 % and i get a error message telling me to restart machine .

Any idea what is wrong ?

Thanks in advance

Aye it sounds like the CD is broken, try a cd cleaner of some sort. This helped for me when I got error messages during setup.

It might just mean if you put e.g. a Kodak device onto your computer you may have to download e.g. drivers for it from the web.

Everytime i reinstall XP i get an error message with the file fl4.swf or something like that, i always ignore it, don't know what it's supposed to be for, can't be that important since it's only a Flash file

don't want to worry you, but it may be a RAM problem

I suspect it is probably a scratched cd, but I have had dodgy ram do that before and it even seemed to break on the same file

If you can't resolve the problem with a different cd or cleaning the current one you might want to try testing the ram with memtest

Spot on ric ;)

I removed a stick of ram and it worked first time .

Got 2 brand new G Skill HZ 1 gig sticks and it looks like one of them is a duffer .

Im still downloading all my updates and new drivers and stuff but i will try and test it out later .

Thanks for your input lads :D
