I'm running XP 32bit currently.

I cant put the cd in and launch the setup when im in windows as the 64bit version is not compatible with 32bit xp.

So obviously the solution is to boot from the cd. I have a problem though. My usb keyboard doesn't seem to work in the boot menu at all or past the bios screen for that matter. I can press F12 to enter boot menu fine, but cannot navigate the menu or get the keyboard working at all past there.

Any ideas as its really frustrating. Tried 2 different keyboards and neither work in the boot menu.

I have tried changing the boot preference in BIOS to boot only from the cd, but all that happens is that while loading windows i get asked to press F12 to boot from CD and my keyboard once again does not work.

Help appreciated

Go through your BIOS options until you find the USB stuff, then enable Legacy USB. That will tell the BIOS to load drivers for the USB keyboard until Windows is able to take over. :)

It's a little odd your BIOS is not recognising your USB KB. Have you tried using a PS2 one? At a guess it's quite an old MB.

Have a look if there is more up-to-date BIOS from the vendors site.

As said above, try updating your BIOS first.

I had a problem with my P5K-E not booting at all when I had a usb keyboard attached! Updated the BIOS, all was fine afterwards! ;)
