Hi all.I have a GigaByte Ga-X48-DS5 and when I try to install my CPU(Q8200) in to the socket I can't push the back the metal load plate completely because its a little bended. Is this normal or should I call for assistance?

Nice one.

That looks fairly normal to me, when you say push back, do you mean when the chip is in position and you want to put the load plate on top of it? I don't remember my load plate going right back on all the boards I've had. I guess the board will have come with it attached, so can't you just slip the chip in?

As already said, they do require a bit of force. Check you've lined the CPU up properly too.

The metal pin thing should push it down properly onto the processor with some force, so give it a go, but don't break the CPU in the process, it should be hard but not almost impossible.

That does look a little bent. Is the board new? You might want to contact OcUK if it won't go on at all and you bought it here.

Does it not have the triangle in the corner of your chip? If that's all lined up then push it down firmly but slowly.
