I've just taken delivery of a new HIS Radeon HD5850 V Turbo.
I dual boot with Windows 7 Pro 32 one one hard drive, and XP 32 SP3 on another. I insalled the card to the Win7 drive without a problem, but it won't install to the XP Drive. It will let me get to the desktop, but after a few secs, before I can install anything I get a blue screen with the following message:
--------------------------------
'A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this scren appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you may need.
If problems continue, remove or disable any newly installed hardware or software.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x000000FC (0xB21A6C00,0x25CE1963, 0xB21a6B38,0x00000001)
Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.'
---------------------------------------------------------
So, any ideas? Anyone seen this before?
I apologise for any mistakes above, I had to quickly take a pic of the screen with my mobile, and just copied down what was there.
Here's the rest of my system if it helps:
Asus P5K deluxe Mobo.
4g PC6400 memory.
Creative X-FI Extremegamer.
HIS Radeon HD5850 V Turbo.
2 HD's (1 250gig winXP 32 / 1 500gig win7 Pro 32)
Thermaltake Toughpower 650W PSU.
Thermaltake Armor case.
Please help, I have lots of programs I need to use on the XP drive that I can't put on the win7 drive.
