Problem installing Vista on a new build - BOOTMGR missing

I have just finished building a new system (ASUS M3A78 board, AM2 Processor, SATA HDD etc) and got part way through the installation of Windows Vista Ultimate but I got an error and had to abort the install.

Windows has installed files on X (which i think is the installation drive it sets up) but I can not access C:

When i try and boot from HDD i get 'BOOTMGR is missing' and have to restart. When i boot from CD first, the HDD is not picked up by the installation.

Any advice on how to rectify this problem?

Many thanks

boot manager is missing, try to reinstall. if problem persists then perhaps find another vista install disc.

I had this problem once, couldt do anything in windows because it would't boot in the end someone gave me a linex ubunti so i installed that and it seemed to pick that up fine and work no probs then i just reformatted with vista and was fine. Maybe a long way round but it worked for me. Hope it helps
