I have just upgraded a pc that had an old 2800+ and 2x 160Gb Raid 1 drives to..
Athlon 4000 x2

Ive naturally had to purchase a new motherboard.(Abit NF-M2S)
I have set up the bios, enabling Raid and I have set the drives in the raid bios to be mirrored. when I reboot this array is diplayed in the post so I know it has worked.

When I go to install windows, after pressing 'S' to install drivers.. which took some doing to get from cd to floppy.. but I did it and I select them. windows continues to install. when it comes to the screen that displays where to install windows the raid drive is not visible.

I have never had this problem in the past with the old motherboard.(Abit NF7-S)

What am I doing wrong or missing?

Please help!

Are you sure that the drivers you loaded are for the SATA controller which the RAID array is on? A lot of boards now have more than one controller.

EDIT: Forget that, the board you have only has the one controller.

update...

Have now got the windows install to recognise the driver and show the drive.. but when it comes to write them to the hard drive just before the first reboot it says it cant read the files.. any of them... even though its just read them to be able to see the drives in the first place!!!
