Hey guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle! Not had problems joining a domain before but am having this problem with a windows server 2003 machine. This machine was previously a domain controller dhcp and dns server (yup all three :S )
I have demoted it using dcpromo, and removed the dhcp and dns server role. All of which completed successfully.
However on demoting it to a member server, it removed the computer from a domain. Problem now is I'm trying to rejoin this computer to the domain again. I can join the domain succesfully, but when the computer restarts and starts up again...it just hangs on 'Applying computer settings'. I thought it was just taking a while longer than usual but 1 hour later it was still applying computer settings. The only way I can get it to actually log on is to reset the computer account on our primary domain controller, but this only allows me to logon locally.
I really need to get this computer on the domain, does any1 have any idea why this is happening??
Any advice appreciated
