It seems some games wont load up on my pc gta:sa CS:s and oblivion wont load to install but other are fine like bf2 ive dropped all my clocks ive tried different refresh rates i have no idea whats making it do this. I have not changed anything hardware wise and im running the latest drivers anyone help?.

What gfx card have you got and have you updated the drivers?

trying updating direct x - had similar problem with CS a few months ago

try using driver cleaner and wipe off all drivers for your gfx card and uninstall it. Then reboot and do a fresh gfx card install just using th most current drivers and then install DX9.0c afterwards. For some reason I have found in the past that some nvidia drivers affect direct x so it's best to install dx after the gfx drivers

I've not really seen this but have you tried a system restore?
