Hey guys. I hav a friends laptop which he has managed to drop, and cause some damage to. It displays like 6 or so of the same image over the screen multiple times, and I am tasked with [possibly] repairing this thing.
Now the laptop is fine for the most part, it boots, works, just the screen is pasted over the screen a lot of times (not like a setting, you can see its ****ed up, has like weird scanline artifacts and stuff).
I presume its one of 2 things. GPU, or Ribbon to LCD (maybe LCD). If it's GPU, I obviously cannot repair it, probably needs a new motherboard. If its the ribbon or LCD, I need to replace the whole screen right, it only detaches on the one end right?
The thing is I don't have anything to really diagnose the problem with, without literally buying parts and testing to see if it's fixed, I cannot really diagnose, so I look to anyone that might have experienced this problem, and what the problem was for you.
It's a HP Pavillion DV2700 (sticker also says DV2750EA in another box?) if that is needed at all. It's out of warranty, so there it's either me or PCW, or if its too much, a new laptop.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dan.
