problem seing videos from pc>xbox

when i go in to media centre on my xbox i am able to see all the files i have shared but cannot play them due due codec issues, yet when i go to videos in media tab on the dashboard which used to let me see them (and play them) i cannot see anything and just get the message no videos found.

i have all the files i want to view shared etc but cant seem to view them. any ideas?

Try turning windows firewall off, i had the same issue and this sorted it.

hmm still issues, what folder do you have to put your videos into to view them on the xbox?

You have to enable media sharing through media player, then you select the folders (or files) to share.

Are you using XP or vista?

Is this Media Center as in the Extender software? Its a real PITA about codecs and for some reason I cant play ripped DvDs in media center only from "videos" that I shared with WMP.

The Extender part for video playback is still gimped which is really stupid.
