Problem selecting hardware profiles at boot

Hi,

I have configured a few hardware profiles with XP which boot with different services enabled/disabled for performance reasons. Unfortunately I am unable to select any of them at the boot menu so the timer just ticks down and goes with the default option. Its not my keyboard as it was working fine before I reinstalled windows. I also had it working ok for a while on the new install but then I tweaked my spyware service, restarted and I was unable to select a profile. I've uninstalled the spyware app. but it hasn't fixed the problem. It seems to be a problem with the hardware profiles themselves but I really don't want to delete them and start all over again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Seems I can select a profile IF I go into BIOS first, save and restart. If I restart without going into BIOS I am unable to select a profile. Wierd, and not a solution.
