Problem Toshiba

Hey guys. My brother has just dropped his Toshiba Satellite C850D 110 from knee height and now I think the hd is knackered, but wanted to ask here to see if that feeling was mutual. So after he's dropped it once you hit the power button - it comes on and up pops the toshiba innovating screen but then it says.
Checking media - fail, and then No bootable device - please restart system. The laptop beeps about 1 time every second and starts as soon as you hit the power button. I can get into the bios but only shows boot device and hd isn't one of them.
Also I have opened up the laptop and resat the memory and hd with no luck. So just want clarification that this is knackered guys, then I will look on Ocuk for a replcement thanks

Def sounds like the hard drive
Just to be sure you should test as a slave drive in a pc

Ok that was the hd. Just got another one i was fixing for another family member. She bought a hd too and ive just fitted it. Now its saying operating system not found when on? Sony laptop that one

Its ok I sorted that too
