Problem when trying to play AVI's

I keep getting a windows error message saying this

AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 11.0.5721.5145 ModName:divxdec.ax
ModVer: 6.0.0.1571 Offset: 0004880e

any ideas?

When does it happen?

When you click on the movie and it displays the preview?

nope i double click the file to start it then it just comes up with that i dont get any video on or nothing, tried it with real and windows media both dont work

that's a divx problem anyway..

install ffdshow from free-codecs.com, then try again

installed it but still doesnt work

Realplayer comes up with this

try media player classic

uninstall any codec packs you have and try ffdshow alone
