Hi everyone,
I have a situation here, got ACER E5-575G-77P4 laptop that come with Windows 10.
I would like to use this laptop with certain softwares that only works on Windows 7. (some car diagnostic tools)
I know this laptops don't have some drivers and windows 7 may not fully function. But I need windows 7.

I followed this Russian HOW TO thread that I translated to english( http://forum.ovgorskiy.ru/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3241.html ) I don't speak russian.

So I converted my C drive to MBR format. I've changed some settings in BIOS as requested there. But as soon as windows install boots up I've being asked for some drivers(that's the first thing I see when USB stick boots)
I tried different windows 7 versions. Same iso file has been used on other laptops with no problems.

Please see those pictures from BIOS settings and error I get while installing W7 https://imgur.com/a/xzm5tKr

Anyone could advice on the solution how can I install windows 7 on this laptop? been trying different things for days now. Maybe there is a hardware solution?

Thank you very much.

The first thing I like to do before installing Windows, is to ensure the latest BIOS is installed. So make sure that your current BIOS is 1.47.

It looks like the Windows 7 installer can't see the drive controller. It's been a while since I mucked around feeding Windows installers with SATA drivers, but normally you can extract some drivers to a USB stick and point the installer there and it will use the supplied drivers to find any installed drives.

Go here and download SATA AHCI Driver 15.2.0.1020 (the first driver in the driver list after you expand it).

Use 7-Zip to extract the archive to a new folder. From the AHCI_Intel_15.2.0.1020_W10x64 folder extract SetupRST.exe to it's own folder. Now extract RST_x64.msi or RST_x86.msi, depending on if you are using a 64 or 32 bit installer. Finally extract drivers.cab and put all the 6 extracted files on to a USB stick.

Hopefully this will let the installer see the drive.

hey @darael , thanks for your reply. I did tried your updating BIOS. And then I after I add new the drivers you mention nothing happens. Somehow installation can't see HDD, I tried to remove it, install to other laptop, do a full format, install it back, tried installing windows from DVD, just freezes at the very beginning and nothing happens. Same ****. I spent a week maybe already. Just gave up and gonna get another laptop. Maybe a thinkpad instead that allows win7 installation.
Thanks for your reply again, I'm sure someone will find it very helpful fixing this issue.
