Sister's iPhone developed a problem, it basically crashed, plugged it into her USB charger and went bed, next morning it wouldn't turn on or if it did the apple icon would show for a few seconds then fade, sometimes with lines across the screen.....
Since then I've tried to restore it. It appears to be in DFU mode but doesn't always display the 'connect to iTunes" icon, although you can see the screen is ON. With it showing or not, iTunes does detect it in recovery mode and as such I hit restore, again, whether I see the iTunes symbol or not, it begins to restore then stops with various iTunes errors, (9, 1600+, etc). I've read what these are, tried different cables, direct connection, taken all other usb's out, nothing helps. This was with her computer and now mine.
Is there anything else I can try to force it to restore? Does redsn0w or PwnageTool offer anything, maybe forcing a custom jailbreak ipsw on it?
It's ever since she updated to 6.0/6.0.1, was perfectly fine before then...which isn't surprising since my 3GS has been rebooting itself for days now since I too updated to 6/6.0.1
It's late and I'm tired so seeking any advice, apple communities is good and all but trying to search a similar problem has failed so far. Thought I'd see what you guys can suggest.
