I recently had to send back a faulty 6800GT and was luckily enough to get a 7800GS as a replacement, or so I thought....
Having some really strange problems Im using the 81.88 driver and removed the driver for the 6800 and ran driver cleaner. This then gave me the expected mark of around 19500 on 3dmark2001 @ stock. The strange thing is if I change the resolution and or refresh rate it sometimes then puts my 3dmark through the floor (just under 8000) Its as if vsync is on but I have made sure its off and tried the application controlled too.
The only way to get back to the normal mark is the remove the whole driver and start again. I had it working fine on 1024x768 @ 120 refresh but then had to change the resolution and then it did same thing. I dont really want to have to remove the whole driver everytime i want to change res.
Any ideas?
