Hi there, recently bought myself a second hand JCM2000 DSL 401, It was manufactured in 2004 from what I can tell by the serial number.

I've read a little about these amps overheating but I don't think this is the issue with mine, the problem with mine is that the sound will simply fade out and then fade back in again (if I'm lucky) It usually happens after about 5-10 mins play.

I've read a little about this issue but can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Any experts here or anyone had a similar problem?

Cheers.

Hi mate,

that Fender Super Champ XD I bought does similar as did my mates Marshall (I forget the model).
I believe it's just the valves heating up, as for both of the above when on for more than 45 mins there is no problem at all.
I'm guessing but if someone knows it would be good to have a confirmed answer.

Cheers :).

Sorted with a quick call to Marshall (I hope), apparently it's the bridge rectifier that needs replacing, they have sent me one out,

Once the valves are on they should really stay on, it would be a little like a lightbulb going out for a while really, I wouldn't expect that.
