I have just sold a cheapo Saab 900 on eBay.

The engine light flashes, and the battery didn't hold charge so I replaced battery and now it does hold charge however the engine light still flashes.

The car starts fine, but when you rev it it chugs and dies.

If you rev it slowly its fine, if you rev it hard it chugs.

Any ideas?

My shed (Corsa) had a similar problem, many trips to the mechanic later it was sorted by replacing a temperature sensor somewhere in the engine bay.

God knows which one though.

Might have to start unplugging sensors and remove the ECU light :D

Try unplugging the AMM - if it perks up a bit it's gone into limp home mode and need to change that. And get yourself over to the forums at saabcentral.com
