Problem with ASUS Essence STX II

Seeing as I have some spare time I thought I would go back to recording some old cassettes of radio shows I did from back in the 80/90s. I got my deck set up plugged cable into line-in but no sound coming through it!! the sound comes through the microphone but not the line-in input, can't use the microphone input because the sound is too low.

Using windows 11 hopefully this is the issue and not the card.

Anyone still got one of these cards and tried to record using Audacity? it detects the card but no sound via line-in.

Well that took some doing.

I had to uninstall the legit essence drivers, disable driver signature enforcement and then install UNi-Xonar-W10-1825-v1.81a-r2 finally got the line-in to work, it just wouldn't work with the normal Asus drivers.
