Everything was great untill I removed the graphics card to check the model number...stupid thing to do as now after putting it back in I have nothing on screen, no post, nothing infact the screen goes into energy save mode, the motherboard gives 1 long and 3 short beeps, which I'm led to believe is a graphics failier. I have swapped card with a known working card and still no screen and the same beeps, the card works in another PC ok, so it looks like I have stuffed the motherboard.....am I missing an easy solution here or should I just swap out the M4N78SE and put it down to being an idiot?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

1 Long and 3 short beeps is a memory test failure I believe.

Make sure you haven't dislodged any of the RAM sticks or just try with one stick of RAM at a time.

If that fails to cure it read on.

Have you made sure the card is seated properly in the socket?

Did you remember to attach any power connectors to the card?

Have you made sure there's nothing blocking the socket? No clumps of dust or fluff in there.

Try giving the contacts on the card a clean.

Good luck.

Ram is seated ok,
Card sits ok,
The card has no power connection.
all looks clean.

Thanks for replying.
