got a friend with the above mobo trying to set up the onboard sound and configure it to with with teamspeak (ts).

issue is that we cant here any voice over it as he tries to speak, either get hissing if TS is set for voice activation, or him getting the button clicking sound if he has it set as press button to talk.

tried d/l latest drivers etc from asus but its made no difference, we know the mic is fine as its been checked on another system.

any info would be appreciated as its getting to the point of being a pain in the backside :(.

erm..

Try windows sound recorder + 1 more software to see if mic picks up sound
Make sure recording is configured to "microphone" and not "wave" or something else
Make sure that is the correct sound device is set to default.

is problem just on TS?

XP or Vista?

has the same issues with sound recorder.

checked over msn with him and everything appears to be set ok.

i still think its a config issue, but all the checks i've asked about seem to be right :(.

well then i think that either the mic socket or the whole audio thing is faulty?

not much left really.. perhaps buy a soundcard because mobo imo is the worst thing to have to return
