Problem with BIOS flash for NF7-S V2

Hi all,

I decided to flash the BIOS on my ABIT NF7-S V2 motherboard.

It was on 25 and I have updated to 27.

I did this using the “runme” option from floppy disk.

All went through with no errors reported.

When machine restarted I got checksum error so then powered down and reset the CMOS using jumper.

Now when I reboot, the PC tries to boot into Windows 98!!! when I have an XP PRO system. Needless to say it doesn’t complete and shuts itself down.

Does anyone have any ideas about where I have went wrong and possible suggestions?

My spec:

 ABIT NF7-S V2 motherboard
 Athlon 3200+
 2GB RAM (3 Sticks)
 Abit RX800-Guru RADEON X800 256-bit 256MB AGP8X (connects to PSU)
 1x160 GB HDD (SATA)
 1x40 GB HDD
 DVD/CD RW Combo

All replies greatly appreciated as I’m tearing my hair out.

Thanks,

Paul.

You didn't leave the floppy in the drive did you? ;)

Can you get in the BIOS (yes) and look at the boot order?

Thinking...what sort of floppy (format) did you put the files on?
Not a windows 98 or ME boot floppy was it?
