Problem with BT Broadband Installation CD

I tried installing BT Broadband on my son's computer and had a problem with the ethernet connection, winsocks etc. which is another story.

While sorting that one out I decided to get him up and running with the USB connection. I have unplugged all of the cables, uninstalled all the BT software and even deleted a few BT Broadband folders left over in Programme Files. I have removed the CD from the drive, shut the drive, and shut down the computer.

I still cannot get the CD to start from the beginning. I have tried everything and still the CD says "Welcome Back" and starts 59% of the way through where it wants to test the connection. Can anyone tell me how to start the CD from the beginning?

I do not think there is a problem with the CD itself. The programme has obviously installed something somewhere on my computer to remind it where it was. There are no options to go back or start over. When you "exit setup" it still starts more than halfway through even after a reboot.

Without the cd here, perhaps try running a manual setup.exe or something from the disc? ONe of them might be the beginnings..?

Had the very same thing happen with my brothers BT broadband setup two weeks ago. I followed the instructions and installed supposidly what was required , but allas it didn't work . No connection .[there was a yellow exclamation mark in devices] So , I uninstalled the lot , so I thought from add-remove programs in Control Panel , This is supposed to be the proper way of uninstalling proggys .All the crap disapeared from the desktop Yahoo this ,Yahoo that . So ,I thought I would re-install and put the disk into the CD tray. ...Welcome back... it wanted to continue the first installation , that was that , no way was it going to re-install . I should have used a registry checker as I presume it left it's garbage there from the first time. What I did was, [as the second post has pointed out] to open up the folders on the disk to view and run an .exe file. I think it was a folder named modem driver or something coz that's what it did . It just loaded the modem driver on , and was spot on , but without all the Yahoo garbage and help links .All my brother does now is to double click on Internet Explorer and he's on the net.
