Problem with buying.

Hello.

The guy I am to buy the car off does not have the V5C registration document but he says he has the tear-off and that I can go to the post office with it or something?

How can he sell it without the the V5?!?!

Don't buy that (or any) car without a V5 mate, end of.*

*My opinion anyway, I think you can legally still buy it, but its a can of worms I'd avoid opening if I were you.

ask him to get another. then the deal will be done.

make it simple, he can either say yes or no,
you will soon find out if its stolen or not

It appears that he bought the car recently bought the car and is waiting for the V5 to come through the post.

lol thats one aspect, the other is simple: Tell him get the V5 THEN youll buy it

If he has the tear off slip you should be ok. If you are at all uncomfortable tho walk away. I wouldn't worry if it's a cheap car tho. Make sure you get a receipt for any money apid tho.
