Hi guys,
I have a xfx 4890 xt and ive been running crysis with everything on full and its been awsome, graphics have blown me away, and ive had no problems what so ever, untill now.
Im on the mission where the giant alien is attacking the carryer at sea, the level was fine upuntill the point where that beast came into it, now if theres any ocean in view the screen goes white, like a flash bang, and everything is outlined in trippy colours, ocassionaly the whole scene just goes to crazy colours.
Any idea if its the game? Or do i need to lower the setting for this level alone and then put them back up once ive done it?
Or does any one know of just one setting i can lower to prevent this?
Thanks

(its all patched and upto date btw)

That's the most buggiest part of the game, loads of problems at that point in the game for gamers.

Try switching off AA for that part of the game (if you're using it) - i found that this helped me get through buggy patches.

Additional: And it's the holidays for you delinquent student types isn't it? ;) (i wish i was still at uni...) If so, have you started/finished modding that case yet?

Well, when i played it on my computer, it messed up at that exact part, kept failing on me and i was using an Intel Q6600 and a GTX 280. The funny thing is, my lil brother who has an AMD X2 and a 7300LE managed to get through the game with no problems whatsoever apart from a lack of eye candy and lag.

The Crysis forums have loads of patches out. I think there's a 2.2 version for Crysis and a 2.1 version for Crysis Warhead and other additional patches that can be added to the game, eg: Far Cry level patch, but i tend to stay away from add-ons like that as i've had bad experiences with them due to messing up my game.

Yeah, probably because he had half the video features disabled - it seems to make a difference with notorioulsy buggy moments.

I can't remeber the patch numbers but i do know that one of the Crysis patches is incompatible with win 7 64bit - i think it was 1.2.1. (yep it was - link - i had to revert back to 1.2.)
