Problem with CPU fan? Don't think so....

Hi all

I use my PC daily, but have not used it for the last week due to being on holiday (not sure if this has any relevance!). Now on start up after the Asus screen flashes up I get a message saying there is a problem with my CPU fan and it asks me to press F1 to go into the BIOS to rectify. I do this and just exit and the PC re-starts fine. I have looked and the fans on the Phanteks cooler are spinning fine as are all the other case fans.

What could be up? How can I rectify this as it is a real pain on startup to have to follow the daft steps!

There should be an option in the bios somewhere to disable this. It'll be called "fan speed warning" or something like that, and should be in the "power" section of the bios.

My Asus BIOS had a minimum speed warning limit of 600rpm. I just reduced this to 300 and problem solved.

Running Phanteks on their PWM adapter and idle as low as 377rpm

Thankyou peeps - I went into the BIOS and set lower fan speed limit to 400. This seems to have done the trick. Strange as there was no change from before and my fans on idle are set to mid 600's.
