hi people i wanted an opinion on something, i downloaded the intel id progrsm to identify the cpu i had and when it came up it said it was running at 2.98ghz and the actual speed should only be 2.93, it came up saying its overclocked, i have not overclocked it so why has that come up? to be honest i dont even no how to overclock a CPU, can some one shed some light to me on this?

cheers

Liam

Check for automatic overclocking options in your bios, recently board manufacturers were deeply criticised for having small auto overclock options enabled in the bios by default to try and win benchmarks, i think most have stopped doing it now thankfully.
Before you do that download cpuz and take a look at the fsb, i think that will tell you if its overclocked or not.
