Hi,

My friend build a new computer recently with all new parts. At the weekend he was playing a game when it blue screened. He restarted the CMOS and the temps were reading 104 idle with an i7 and h100i when he was overclocked to 4.5 and maxed 85 under load. He tried the stock cooler and got 90+. He had no idea what is causing this. Does anyone have any idea ?

Thanks

Worded that wrong. He was at stock clock and at 1.1v when it read 104. I meant he was overclocked to 4.5ghz before it happened.

He has now reseated the h100i with new thermal compound. Slightly lower but still 45 idle at 1.1v where as it was about 30 before

Is there anything that indicate it isn't ? Except high temps ?. We thought that until we notice the stock cooler was still reading high temps.

Why has this been moved to the overclocking and cooling section ? It may not be to do with cooling and it's nothing to do with overclocking ? That's why I posted it in general.
