Hi guys, I have a old Creative Megaworks which i bought in 2004ish. Stopped using them about 1 year ago, and tried connecting it a few weeks ago.

Worked as usual fora bout maybe 30 mins and then suddenly heard a pop and smelled smoke or fried electronics^__^.

Well, didn't start up from then on, no light whatsoever. Thought it might be the fuse on the plug(one that connects to socket) and changed it but still nothing.

Does it mean its bust? Really can't afford to buy a new set right now:(

Thanks

It could be a fuse inside the amp, but you will have to take it apart to find out.
Smell of "fried electronics" would more likely signify a blown capacitor. You will probably find the year of non-use allowed dust to settle around some of the high voltage components, and the sudden input of 240V shorted across the dust.

could be the big filter caps in the PSU.I might be able to post some pix if i got the time and if you're interested.
