hi,

i hadnt used my PC for a while now, but i ended up getting a couple of new games, so before installing them i updated to the omega 15.3 drivers.

now, i hadn't noticed a problem before this, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there before hand. . .

so i tried out far cry 4 and dying light (i have since seen there is an official issue with dying light) and both seemed a little sluggish. so i fired up afterburner to use the riva tuner stats thing and in both games my second card is sat at 300mhz core and 0% load.

so, i have uninstalled cleaned and re installed a few times now and still according to CCC my second card is "disabled" and i have no crossfire option.

anyone had this or have any idea what it is?

TIA

Jase

Far cry 4 and dying light both have issues with crossfire for many users.
But it sounds like your problem is worse than that. Was the crossfire disabled before you used the cleaner? Sometimes they introduce problems.

If it were me, I'd use system restore to roll back to a point just after installing the 15.3 drivers, and test again.

i have also tried alien isolation an that is the same, its as if i only have one card installed.

i will see if i can roll back

thanks

If the option doesn't come up in CCC, push the power cables a little. If that doesn't work reseat the cards.

If it's not driver related it should be one of those 2 issues.

from africanos23s advice, i looked at the power cables from the psu, i think there was an issue there, but i have now split them so that each feed from the psu goes into the first plug on one card and the second plug on the other (if that makes sense)

the option has returned!

cheers all

Jase.

My old 7950 crossfire setup usually gave me a bit of a headache on each new driver install. Crossfire would not work or even be able to activate it. Had to change the hardware config each time.. more the cards around, change bridge position.. Was weird.. Glad your issue is sorted though.. hopefully you wont see any of it again.

you gave me an idea for my 295x2 crashing when going into crossfire mode. I backed off the cpu overclock as my psu might be quite badly aged and it's fine now! individually 295x2 can do 1100mhz and cpu 4.5ghz but together they crash. New psu ordered!
