Need some advice.

I have a problem with my automatic gearbox, so I made a post on the Volvo forums and was recommended a fix. This was to have ATF flushed/changed. So I rang my local Volvo dealer and explained I would like an ATF flush/change, they got back to me and said it would be a drain/change, so I accepted.

The work was completed on Wednesday, but the problem still persists. So I went back to the guys on the Volvo forums and explained what I had done, how much it cost etc. They have advised me that the dealer will have only drained some oil and refilled, going by the amount of oil I was charged for.

I'm not best pleased, so I've rang the dealer and I'm waiting for a call back. The outcome I would like is to have them do the job properly, and pay the difference. I have a feeling I don't stand a chance.

Correct osc89er. A full change requires approx 12 litres, I was charged for about 5-6 litres. I didn't ask them to drain a bit and top up.

Spoke to Volvo, they confirmed that the amount used is correct for a change. I think the system needs flushing, but Volvo can't do that, and I've already forked out a fair amount already.

I may have to learn how to do it myself.

They won't flush it. So I can either do it myself (somehow), or ask them to diagnose the problem which cost £57, and then then pay whatever else on top it is to correct it.
