I recently purchased this http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-032-DE monitor.

after about 2 weeks it has started producing strange horizontal lines cascading upwards from the right of the screen pertruding about half way across the screen with varying lengths (almost like a waveform monitor from a audio editting program). They don't show up on white or black backgrounds, only coloured, they don't show on print screens and they continue to show when I unplug the monitor from my computer where it shows the "no dvi device connected" thing.

Thanks, Sam.

I would immediately call up dell (using the number on the product page you linked to).

So long as you have your "Dell Works Order Number" (which is on the box the monitor came in), the serial number (on the back of the monitor) and the name of the reseller you bought it from (Esnet Ltd. - for Overclockers) then you have all the info you need to call them up. Explain to them the problem and they should send out a replacement monitor for next day delivery.

Thanks for your quick reply.

In what form and whereabouts on the box will I find the work number?

Thanks.

On the Dell box there should be two white stickers, mine shows where the monitor was assembled, and one that states the Dell works order number ( 9 digits long on mine )

I had my 2407wfp replaced 2 months ago without the need of the works number.

I threw the box out and although he did ask I gave him my serial from the back and place of purchase and next day I had a replacement.

I have a silver frame around the actual screen but a black base (i assume that's what you mean by bezel) Any reason to ask?

Just called up Dell and realised there is no sticker on the back of the monitor which apparently they all come with (containing the serial number). It definately did not arrive with one.. now have been told to contact overclockers to ask why there is no sticker/what the dell order number is. Sigh.

Hmm All dells have stickers. On my Dell if you are looking directly to the rear there should be a narrow white sticker bellow where the kettle power lead goes.

I have been messed around with overclockers with orders so im impartial but I highly doubt anyone would remove such item and if so cant you see if there is any residue or any tell-tale signs that it has in fact been removed.

Apologies for my previous post, I have replaced a 2209WA recently - so I should have remembered.

On the 2209WA, the cool information (including the serial number) should be on a slide-out card on the left side.

Hmm, Dell customer support.. didn't realise it was going to be this bad.

Rang them up on 2 separate occasions stating every number I could find on the box with none of them apparently matching a dell works number.. ended up being told to contact OCUK as apparently they had not supplied the number and they then said it's supplied on every box. I then called up in the vain hope that they would be able to accept just the serial number of the monitor but ended up spending 37 minutes on hold before being cut off and being charged £28 on my mobile because I don't have access to a landline. I simply cannot afford to ring them again until I get back from university in two weeks (where i can access a landline) and there is no way of e-mailing them without the Dell customer number.

No idea what to do, stuck in a really lame place. :(
