Greetings to all, this I think is my first post in here, but anyway I have a problem with my digital camera.

At the moment I have an Olympus C310 digital camera which I bought at the begining of last year. I bought some 2100 NiMH batteries for it, and they lasted around about 10 maybe 15 minutes in it whilst taking photos, about the same length of time that you get when using something duracells or the like.

I didn't really think much of the above problem as I didn't use the camera all that much, and say a few weeks ago I bought some stronger 2300 ones, Duracell branded NiMH rechargeable with charger. I still have the same problem, is this is a problem with the camera itself ? Or is it beause thats the way it's always been with this type of battery ??

This site reviews your camera, the last page giving the conclusions. It says that the battery life is good (a Pro Point).

Do you own a small battery tester? I've got one and I wouldn't be without it, many of my uniross 2300 batteries have failed and I've thrown them all away. The charger instructions state that the red light will go out once the batteries are charged. In my case the Uniross Charger's red light starts to "blink" after a few minutes and the batteries will not hold a charge. The tester tells me that too. I've used the charger in India and Kenya and I wonder if that will be the price I have to pay for using it abroad? (electric surcharges?)

I bought some other batteries from fleabay nimh AA2700 and so far they've been ok, but the real test will be on my next overseas' holiday.

I wish that was my camera, I think I may have gotten the model number wrong, should have said it's an Olympus C310 Zoom, review of it here
