Problem with Digital output

I have an AsRock Z77 its MB with onboard graphics that I can output DVI, Displayport and HDMI. It was working fine until yesterday when my monitor stopped displaying anything through DVI after a restart of the computer. I then tried the D-SUB/VGA connection on my monitor (using a DVI-D-SUB adaptor at the motherboard end) and that worked fine, however trying the HDMI on a TV later showed that didn't work either so it appears the whole digital side of the output had broken however analogue signal seems to still work from the same socket.

Anyone else had this problem before? I'm probably going to send the board back but hope there is something I may be able to do so don't have to, I'm wondering if the monitor has managed to damage the digital out of the board as the last GFX card I had I couldn't output to the monitor through the DVI port either.
