Problem with downloading photos :S

I'm completely stumped on this one. All of a sudden I don't seem to be able to download photos from my Canon EOS 350D any more.

When I plug my camera into my PC, windows does recognise it's there, but when I go into Lightroom and try to import photos, I just get an error dialogue saying that "No photos were found".

Also, when I try to explore the camera from explorer, it just shows a blank memory card even when I know that there is data on it

I flashed the camera with the latest firmware release from Canon but that has made no difference

Anyone got any suggestions for what I could try doing, or is it time for a new camera?

The pictures can be viewed on the camera, and I've tried different cards but that seems to make no difference

And thanks for the replies everyone, I think I might buy / borrow a card reader from somewhere to import my photos from now on.

Bah if only I had the money to do so

Problem solved though: I spent 10 quid on a basic card reader from a well known high street retailer, it works surpsingly well
