Problem with downloads in firefox.

Hi,

If this is the wrong forum please move to somewhere more appropriate.

I am currently unable to download in firefox, because at one time I had download accelerator installed. Although I uninstalled it, it would appear it didn't uninstall properly as everytime I click on a download link it gives me an error saying that download accelerator failed to initialise properly.

Is there a way to get rid of this as it is very annoying and has survived several updates of the firefox broswer.

Check it hasn't installed an addon, and/or try safe mode/a new profile?

can you use the windows installer cleanup utility to remove the traces?
