Problem with drivers

For some time now I'm running my rig on Win XP x64. Most of the things work fine (part for ArcaVir, that's not yet compatible with this OS) and if they don't, proper drivers are usually to be found on the web. For some reason though I cannot get my computer to detect my logitech webcam. The provided drivers won't install under Win XP x64 and the ones that I download from the producer's site don't seem to be doing a thing. The installation goes fine and all the soft is installed but...when I plug in the device, window's starts looking for the drivers even though it already has them. That in itself would not be a problem if it managed to find them, but it doesn't. I've tried forcing it to look in the Drivers folder but got nothing. Any ideas on how to deal with this problem (changing the OS is out of question)?

The Joy of using a 64bit OS realy, as not every company is going to produce drivers for it. You may be stuck without drivers for the cam for a long time.

Had it not been Logitech, I'd agree but they do produce drivers for x64. I also have the MX518 mouse and it works fine - the provided drivers and software installed and work without any problems. As I said - the provided software (for webcam that is) refuses to install at all as it's not Win XP x64 compatible but the one downloaded from the website does install (and works, part for the drivers). It seems as if the OS was blind to the drivers it already has :/
