Hi guys,
Been having some issues with my computer the last few weeks in that when ever i go to select something that opens up a new window or dialog box, it doesnt always do it first time and takes a few clicks before it stays open.

For example, when ever im in my firefox browser and want to select something from my bookmarks, i click on the bookmark tab which opens and when i release the mouse button, it goes away..It then takes a couple of clicks for it to stay open. Happens too when selecting check boxes and even the start button to get into my applications.

Only recent changes ive made was an update to my graphics card but that wa for 3d support which im not bother about. Someone mentioned hardware acceleration to me but wasnt sure what this was.

Any ideas

Anybody?

Would it be anything to do with me running 64bit of win 7 which i upgraded too about a month or two ago from Vista 32bit? Didnt seem to have any problems however until that graphics card firmware update.

Could also be a problem with your mouse, the button may be "double-clicking". Try another mouse, if you have one, or go to the mouse settings in control panel and use the double-click test button to check it.

It isnt the mouse.

I stand corrected. I was using windows calculator last night and rather than using the number pad i was being lazy using the mouse and whenever i clicked a number, it would enter it twice so ive come to the conclusion that it is indeed the mouse.

Apologies Grenache and good call.

Yeah was going to say double clickling mouse isn't that uncommon. Apparently well know issue with Roccat mice although never experienced it with my Kone+

I have the exact same problem when right-clicking an item. The menu will pop up then close right away. It is definitely mouse related. It happens with two identical mice on two systems -- all an older style Dell two-button with wheel, the most comfortable mouse I have found. I have to be careful of how I click. :)

It does seem to have only been a problem since I switched to Win7, though. It doesn't happen on my wife's Vista system.

/trots off to check for driver update...
